Conformation Ring Handling and Education Classes

Do you have a purebred dog with Champions in his or her background? Or just want to show for fun. If you have decided to show your dog, but do not know where to start, this class is for you.

It is more then just a "how to stack" your dog class. We will teach you the ins and outs of the show ring, from the politics, to proper ring etiquette. Then you will learn how to present your dog to the judge properly. Puppies and adults welcome. All puppies must have had at least two sets of shots. Please do not give shots any earlier then 7 weeks old, with two weeks in-between sets, and then allow two weeks for good immunity results. The minimum age for this class will be 12 weeks old. Remember it is much less structured for the youngsters, so we make it very, very fun for them.

This class qualifies for our "you organize" program. If you organize a class in your area, you and a friend can take this class for free. For this class (each is different) you must have at least 5 paying students, and if it is out of the city of the Chesapeake area, it must be 7. This helps to cover the extra gas costs. If you have no friend you wish to give this class to for free, you may charge an additional student and actually make money. That student can pay you directly or I will pay you at the end of class if they pay us.

8-Week Class is $100.00.  This class is longer then most because you have a lot to learn. The first two weeks are classroom only. You will learn how the point system works, how to enter a show, what happens in the ring, how to title a dog, and much more. Your classroom class is one hour. You will learn tricks of the trade, and thing that might take you years to learn. These are things that after your first two classroom classes, you will have six weeks of hands on handling classes. There is no test, no pressure, so come, learn and have fun. Any purebred dog welcome, or if you have a mixed breed and plan on getting a dog to show, and just want to get a jump start on your knowledge, that would be an excellent idea. Your hands on classes will be approx. one hour, more or less depending on the class size.
