If you don't learn to train your dog, you have nothing.  This course is designed to teach you the basics of dog training.  I will teach you things other trainers will not teach you.  This is because they need you to keep coming back for more, so they can keep making money.  Being a retired police officer has it advantages.  My bills don't depend on how much I make dog training.  All the proceeds of my training goes to saves the lives of those that are lost, and the support of my search and rescue dogs.  This type of volunteer work is very expensive so in this economy I would not be able to do this with out dedicated dog owners that want to learn.  So you get two things for your money, you get dog training 101, and you greatly help with volunteer K9 search work.  We are ready 24/7 for that lost person search, or a local disaster (through Chesapeake's emergency management & CERT).  

Group classes don't teach you much.  Most of my clients that have dogs with bad manners have been through two group obedience classes.  This is because you have to understand the theory of behavior, leadership, manners, and then obedience.
